01 — Who we are
The data controller
Maid Refined is the controller of any personal data collected through this site. For any question about your data, write to hi@maidrefined.com.
02 — What we collect
The contact form
When you send an enquiry through this site, we receive:
- Your name and email address.
- The town or area you'd like the work in.
- The home details you choose to share — number of bedrooms and bathrooms, the type of visit, and the frequency you have in mind.
- The message you write describing what your home needs.
We don't use tracking cookies. We don't run advertising pixels. We don't sell or trade your information to anyone.
03 — Why we collect it
Purpose & lawful basis
We use the information you send for one purpose only: to reply to your enquiry and, if you go on to book, to arrange and deliver the work you've asked for.
Our lawful basis under Article 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR is legitimate interests — specifically, our interest in responding to people who have actively contacted us about our services, balanced against your reasonable expectation that we will do so.
04 — Where it goes
Categories of recipients
To deliver this site and receive your enquiry, we use a small number of reputable service providers, each bound by UK GDPR data-processing terms:
- A website hosting and content-delivery provider, which carries your enquiry in transit. They don't retain its contents.
- A business email provider, which hosts the mailbox where your enquiry lands. Data is held within the UK and EU.
No other third party receives your data. We will share processor details on request where you have a legitimate reason to know them.
05 — How long we keep it
Retention
- If your enquiry doesn't lead to a booking, we keep the conversation for up to 24 months in case you come back to us, then it's deleted.
- If you become a client, we keep your records for the duration of the engagement and for six years after the last visit — the retention period UK tax law requires for business records (HMRC).
You can ask us to delete your data sooner at any time. See section 06.
06 — Your rights
What you can ask us to do
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access — see what personal data we hold about you.
- Rectify — correct anything that's wrong or out of date.
- Erase — ask us to delete your data, where there's no good reason for us to keep it.
- Restrict — ask us to pause processing while we sort something out.
- Object — ask us to stop using your data where our basis is legitimate interests.
- Portability — ask for a copy of your data in a portable format.
To exercise any of these, write to hi@maidrefined.com. We respond within one calendar month, free of charge.
07 — Complaints
If something's gone wrong
If you believe we've mishandled your information, please tell us first — we'd like the chance to put it right. Write to hi@maidrefined.com.
You also have the right to complain to the UK's data-protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
08 — Cookies & tracking
What we set
This site does not set tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies. The only data your browser stores is what's required for the site to function — and we don't use that data for any purpose beyond serving the page.
09 — Changes
Updates to this notice
If we change how we handle personal data, we update this page and revise the Last updated date at the top. Material changes that affect your rights will be communicated directly where we hold your contact details.
Private, considered, optimised — including how we handle your data.
